10x10x10: Grey Fox Day One

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

When: Thursday, July 17th, 2014

Where: Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Oak Hill, NY

When Alex took me to Grey Fox as my graduation present in 2011, it was hot as all hell with 100% humidity. So, when I was packing for it this time around, all I could focus on was light, easy, breathable clothing. When I found this cotton lace dress at Marshall's, I knew it was Grey Fox worthy. Luckily, the weather was really mild, so I was able to get my groove on in the dance tent to Aoife O'Donovan!

10x10x10: The New New Look

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

When: Wednesday, July 16th, 2014

Where: Kingston, NY

Hot and humid weather means light and flowy layers to me. I've been loving crop tops and full skirts lately. It's like the new New Look. You know, Dior, 1947... The full skirt, the nipped in waist. But this time around, there is a peek of skin and a funky mix of patterns. This wrap skirt is a sample from my fall 2014 line, and it was really comfortable to wear during the three hour drive from Boston to Upstate, while shooting a music video, and then off to lunch (where I adjusted the waistband to fit all the huge meal I scarfed down)!

10x10x10: Summer Layers

Monday, July 28, 2014

When: Tuesday, July 15th, 2014

Where: Errands

On day four of my trip, I re-wore the tee I wore on day one by layering it over a light cotton dress, and tying it in a knot. Since I tied it up at the smallest part of my waist, the tee shirt clung to my body more, creating a more flattering shape despite the extra bulk from layering clothing. I didn't pack a whole ton of accessories, and apparently my peeling MARC by Marc Jacobs watch was simply to embarrassing for my husband to be seen with, so on a pit stop to Kate Spade Saturday in the Pru, we picked out this more durable and modern looking wristwatch.

10x10x10: Work/Play

Sunday, July 27, 2014

When: Monday, July 14th, 2014

Where: Brookline Teen Center & Sports Club LA in Chestnut Hill

We spent the day shooting workout videos for DreamFar, and though I am not in yoga shape, I was pretty into this beautiful yoga studio. I also took this little trip as a opportunity to test out some of my new designs from my upcoming fall line. This reversible top is a sample, and it was so comfortable and perfect for traveling with limited items. Two shirts in one! Amazing!

10x10x10: Bopping Around Boston

Saturday, July 26, 2014

When: Sunday, July 13th, 2014

Where: Bopping around Boston

I'm kind of obsessed with this dress. I got it for less than $10 at Urban Outfitters Surplus, and I really want to go back and get it in the other two prints! It's really flattering (hello, I'm hiding a huge meal of Chinese food under there!), and so easy to wear, wash, and wear again. Since Boston was a little bit stormy, I covered up with my sweater from the day before, but otherwise kept my accessories simple with my favorite mrs necklace, go-to keds, and yellow kate spade bag (which you're about to see a lot more of!).

I'd also like to take a moment to appreciate the above photos. I love how they look like a 90s horror flick, and all the credit goes to Alex and his new GH4.

10x10x10: In Flight

Friday, July 25, 2014

When: Saturday, July 12th, 2014

Where: LAX --> BOS

When I fly, comfort is of the utmost importance. But that doesn't mean I will neglect style! I spotted these drawstring chambray pants on fellow style blogger Sara Sabaliauskas' instagram account, and I knew I had to have them for my trip. Although no one could possibly wear them as well as she does, I love the fact that they are both comfortable and chic.

Another travel must for me is layers. I always, always wear a sweater and scarf on the plane to combat that blast of chilly air that is laser pointed at your seat. When I get too warm, I like to bundle them up and make a pillow. Comfortable slip on and off shoes (with socks!) make security a breeze (and keep your bare feet off the icky floor), and a crossbody bag big enough for my wallet, phone, and ticket are all I need. I whip my book and headphones out of my carry-on suitcase right before I take my seat.

10 items x 10 days x 10 outfits

Thursday, July 24, 2014
I don't know about you, but every time I go on a trip, I pack way too much stuff! I recently went on a 10-day working vacation with my husband, and I decided to only pack 10 articles of clothing. Stay tuned for posts on how I mixed and matched the above items into 10 different outfits.
