Day 188 -- Dress to Impress

When: Thursday, March 7th, 2013

Where: GLO bio juice bar for a quick meeting with Rebecca Reinbold, mama-to-be and  fashion publicist extraordinaire, and lunch with my dear Karisa

This little number is available on my etsy right now! Sometimes when I'm having one of those I have nothing to wear / I want to impress someone days, I reach into my stock pile of self-made Expect. designs. I just throw a belt on top of one of my dresses and run. It just goes to show that you do not have to be pregnant to wear maternity wear!

I'm so excited to be working with Rebecca on a custom design that will soon be incorporated into my line. She has such a unique perspective, and really gave me the inside scoop on what mommies are looking for as well as ways to boost my business even more! Stay tuned to see the Rebecca dress!

Day 187 -- I'm Your Penguin

When: Wednesday, March 6th, 2013

Where: Studio

Even though it was just another studio day for me, I felt a bit like stepping it up today. Even when I can come up with a good outfit that has jeans in it, I still feel like I'm cheating, and mostly I don't feel like myself.

While this black and white ensemble is pretty simple, I felt so good in it! I loved the little details on the shirt, and the way their triangular shape tied into the skirt. I also loved that I didn't have to shave my legs for one more day because I wore tights. Totally guilty as charged.

Day 186 -- Flower Power

When: Tuesday, March 5th, 2013

Where: Studio!

With a dip in the LA weather, I was feeling wearing pants for the second day in a row. These flowered wonder make it easier to embrace impending spring while still feeling cozy and warm.

I went classic with a v neck sweater and a pair of peep toe pumps. Since I was sitting behind my sewing machine all day, heels were permissible, and I only donned them outdoors for a second when we took Bucket around the block and I had to layer on my trusty leather jacket.

Day 185 -- Beachy Ballerina

When: Monday, March 4th, 2013

Where: Huntington Beach errands, studio

We headed down to HB for the morning to run some errands and figured we might actually stop at the beach for a second and eat lunch. It was so nice to feel the sand between my toes and take a breather. What a perfect day!

Things have been going a mile a minute lately and I keep staying up late working on my phone in bed (read: using pinterest to get inspiration and reading pregnancy blogs), and I've been so tired! I just simply couldn't muster up the energy to pick out a nice summery dress, so I opted for a comfy pair of jeans and developed my look from there.

I was also too lazy to wash my hair, so I tied it up in a big ballerina bun, which inspired the rest of my outfit. This pink shirt has a flouncy peplum that resembled a tutu, and pearls always feel elegant. I matched my sandals to the pearls, and headed out!

I added a final touch with a sparkly clip in my hair and some sunnies to keep my cornea from bursting into flame.

Day 184 -- Ugly Pants, part II

Where: Studio

Everyone loves a good pair of hot pink paper bag pants that give you a fupa and make you look 20 pounds heavier! Oh well.

 Not much else to say about this outfit. I just felt like being comfortable while working in my studio.

Day 183 -- Day Off Digs

When: Saturday, March 2nd, 2013

Where: Balboa Park, Antique Shopping, Wedding Planning

For the first time since I became my own boss, I gave myself at Saturday off. Alex and I really enjoyed the hot weather, but were so surprised by how many people were out! We had never been out on the weekends and I guess we just didn't know that most people would also be enjoying the park on their day off too!

I wore banana earrings yesterday, but today, I look like a watermelon... do you see it?
